Welcome to the New Michelle Bennington Site!

Come on in and sit for a spell, while I “spill the tea” about why things look a little different around here.

For years, I’ve written stories that walked the line between cozy and traditional mysteries. I’m proud of every single book—they each taught me something and brought wonderful readers into my life. But they also lived in that tricky in‑between space where it wasn’t always clear which shelf they belonged on.

That never bothered me creatively, but it did make it harder to design covers and branding that instantly told readers, “This is what Michelle writes.” I wanted clarity and cohesion. I wanted readers to know exactly what kind of world they were stepping into the moment they saw one of my books.

But that’s only part of the story. The deeper reason is more personal.

Everywhere we turn there’s so much noise. So much fear, division, and heaviness. It’s exhausting. My heart and spirit have felt it and I know I’m not alone. So I want to create something to push back against the darkness. Something warm and hopeful. Something to remind us of the good in people and the beauty in community.

I want to build little fictional worlds where you can breathe easier for a while—places full of friendship, humor, comfort food, and the kind of neighbors you wish lived next door...the kind of stories that make you close the book and think, “I wish I lived there.”

That’s my mission moving forward: To write light into the dark. To offer a cozy escape when the world feels too heavy. To create sparks of hope, one story at a time.

Whew. That got a little deep, didn’t it? But it’s the truth, and I’m glad to share it with you.

Now, this new direction doesn’t mean I’m abandoning my historicals or that I’ll never wander into other genres again. Cozy will be my home base, but every now and then l take a little “vacation” into something different.

Speaking of vacations…

It’s time to pack your bags for two new destinations: Caraway Island and Bergamot Grove.

These places are very different: one is a breezy beachside community, the other is nestled in the lush Kentucky bluegrass but they share the same heart:

  • Warm friendships and growing relationships

  • Southern charm and atmosphere

  • Comfort food and good recipes

  • A sprinkle of humor and heart

  • Seasonal celebrations and small‑town ambience

For now, because of my obligations to my publisher, I have to be careful about what I reveal and when. But I promise to share everything I can, every step of the way.

I’m so excited you’re here and grateful you’ve joined me on this new journey. I can’t wait to show you the cozy, hopeful worlds we’re going to explore together.

Here’s to new beginnings and brighter stories ahead!
