A Series New to Me: The Small Town Girl Series

I found a series by Jann Franklin that I'm really looking forward to. It's Christian cozy. Before I get to the story, I want to say how much I LOVE the cover. It's so cute and inviting and the covers for the rest of the series are equally adorable (see below).
In this first book in the Small Town Girl series, successful author, Evangeline Delafose, has moved back to her hometown of Graisseville, Louisiana. But the death of her husband has impeded her ability to write, so she's working on finding her new normal. When Ev is asked to go over the file of the unsolved murder of Michael Cook to see if she can find something that was missed, she gets more than she was expecting.
One of my favorite character is ol' Shorty, the ladies man of the town, the handyman and now Ev's partner in crime. A trained P.I. he strikes a bargain to help her as long as she keeps paying in muffalettas. Together they make a good team and Shorty keeps Eve on her toes.
With small town living and local culture, Franklin draws the reader in. It was as if I shared a rocker on a big covered porch with a glass of iced tea alongside Ev and Shorty. I'm so glad I found this series and I'm super excited to see what the next book is about!
If you love clean, cozy, and Christian-based mysteries, then this is a must-read series!
